MP Cong demands probe in death of health minister’s PS

Bhopal, August 26: Madhya Pradesh Congress today demanded a probe into circumstances leading to the death of state Health Minister Anoop Mishra’s private secretary, R P Shroti.

State Congress Spokesman K K Mishra in a statement raised doubts as to why Shroti was shifted to a private hospital after his health deteriorated while he was under treatment at a government hospital.

Shroti, who died on August 23 in a private hospital, was admitted a day before in the Government JP Hospital here for the treatment of Malaria. However, he was discharged from the hospital the same day, he said.

Later, in the evening he was brought again to the JP hospital with a very high fever which has damaged his veins, and was diagnosed with ‘falciparum malaria’ following which he was referred to a private hospital in critical condition.

The Health Minister’s secretary later died in the private hospital.

Mishra said that why Shroti was admitted in a private hospital when he was being treated in the government hospital.

“The death of Shroti in such circumstances cannot be described as a ‘normal death’ and therefore, the state government should conduct an impartial probe to find out the truth,” Mishra demanded.
