Mozilla: Firefox 3.5 will be released tomorrow

Washington, June 29: Firefox 3.5 will be released tomorrow The developer of free and open source Firefox web browser – Mozilla has announced that it will officially release its Firefox 3.5 on Tuesday, June 30, 2009.

Codenamed as Shiretoko, the Firefox 3.5 version’s first Release Candidate was released on June 16, 2009; the second Firefox 3.5 Release Candidate was released on June 19, 2009; and the third Release Candidate of the version 3.5 of Firefox was released on June 24 2009.

The third Release Candidate of Firefox 3.5, which is now available for download, shows a slew of new features and enhancements. In the third Firefox 3.5 RC, Mozilla has fixed the problems and glitches pointed out by feedbacks obtained on the previous release candidates.

Focused more on functionality, the third Release Candidate of Firefox 3.5 features improvements in terms of performance, web compatibility, and speed. The TraceMonkey JavaScript engine, boosting performance and stability, is the key feature of the third Firefox 3.5 RC. The third Firefox 3.5 RC highlights a Private Browsing Model for controlling private data. It includes HTML 5 capabilities in such areas as encoded video.

Developed for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, the third Firefox 3.5 RC is available in 70 different languages. Mozilla has advised developers to check out the release notes and get informed about issues before installing the Firefox 3.5 RC. The users already using a Firefox 3.5 Beta or Release Candidate can also download the third RC of Firefox 3.5.

Meanwhile, Mozilla has just released the Mozilla Firefox web browser adapted for mobile phones and other portable devices, christened as Fennec. Fennec 1.0 Alfa 2 is available on Mozilla’s website.
