Hyderabad, December 23: Oak ridge International School celebrated their Ninth Founder’s Day for senior and junior school with a lot of enthusiasm.
The students take an active part in such activities as these also bring out the hidden talent in them. It gives them a chance to show their other than academic self.
The day started with an exhibition, which showed what all they had grasped in the last one academic year. So the parents could make out what their kid is learning at school. The theme was “For a better tomorrow” and it was divided among the different streams like business management economics, biology, physics etc.
With the concept of each subject the students tried to show the theme “better tomorrow”. The students used their innovative ideas and techniques to portray this theme by making it flow in games, hand-made-models, and comics.
They also sold T-shirts, which they had designed and also put up a food stall. The purpose was to collect funds for charity for better living. Oakridge not only trains students academically but also assists them to unleash their inner self to the fullest. The pupils realize their talents and develop themselves fully to counter the world when they leave school.
The chief guest for the senior lot was Daggupatti Purandeshwari, Minister of State for Human Resource Development (Higher Education). In her speech she affirmed that today’s students are future leaders. The principal of the institution Capt Rohit Sen Bajaj presented the annual report in which he spoke about the accomplishments and improvements the school had made. The other dignitaries were Shomie Das, chairman of education, PCEIPL, T Nagaprasad, chairman of Oakridge, and YS Rajashekhar Babu managing director.
The programme was a treat for eyes indeed.
The teachers and the students had excellently choreographed the dance. The choir sang for the musical play Aladdin. It was a wonderful story from one thousand and one Arabian nights. The reveling genies, soaring carpets and enchanting dance bewitched the audience.
The chief guest for the Junior school was Gopichand Mannam, FRCS (Edin), FRCS (Glasgow), and FRCS (CT), Chief Cardiovascular Surgical Research. The junior school also had a similar exhibition like the senior ones but with different themes like ‘Air is every where,’ learning through concepts’ bond together with strategies, challenging world of assessment and many more. The junior pupils displayed their talents by poem recital. They also showed their ability of handicraft by showing handmade models of zoo f a i r – ies all made out of chart paper and paper cuts.
