Hyderabad, July 10: On the lines of the BPS scheme to regularise unauthorised constructions, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) is introducing the Voluntary Disclosure Scheme (VDS) for regularisation of illegal water supply/sewerage connections.
The scheme, applicable for domestic connections and multistoried buildings only, starts on July 15 and closes on September 14. The applicants, besides procuring and fixing water meters, have to pay connection charges as per plot area, consumption charges for 60 days, one year minimum water consumption charges as penalty, Green Brigade charges (Rs 500 towards labour charges for physical verification) and Rain Harvesting charges.
Applicants can find out the total regularisation charges from the water board’s website by entering the particulars of their connections.
The applicants should enclose a DD for the charges in favour of the HMWS&SB on any nationalised bank and also the following documents along with the filled-in forms: a copy of registered sale deed/notarised affidavit, copy of latest property tax receipt/electricity bill/ voter ID/ ration card and a copy of GHMC sanctioned plan.
After field verification, the exact charges will be determined, on payment of which the connection will be regularised and a consumer account number (CAN) will be assigned.
