Motor mechanic injured in police beating

Hyderabad, October 5: Meerchowk police on Tuesday allegedly assaulted a motor mechanic Mohammad Ahmed Ali (50) later they admitted him to Osmania hospital and fled. Talking to press persons at Osmania hospital, Ahmed Ali’s wife Sabiha Begum told that her husband went to work in the morning he was washing his hands at a hotel opposite to Imliban bus station after having breakfast. Meerchowk police who was present there objected on his washing the hands when Ahmed Ali asked the reason for objection they badly assaulted him. Ahmed Ali tried to seek explanation behind police excess but the police used third degree torture in answer to his question.

Sabiha Begum alleged that 4 policemen belonging to Meerchowk police shifted her husband to police station in Rakhshak vehicle and used third degree. They plucked the nails of his toes and later broke his leg.

On receipt of information MBT corporator Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid reached the hospital and condemned police excess and warned to approach human rights commission against Meerchowk police’s behaviour.
