Mothkupalli breaks down for denial of RS seat

Senior TDP legislator and former minister Mothkupalli Narasimhlu on Wednesday broke into tears while confronting his party colleagues in the Assembly lobby over denial of the party’s ticket for Rajya Sabha in the ensuing biennial elections.

Taking on the party member Erraballi Dayakar Rao, who is also the convener of the Telangana TDP Forum, Mothkupalli accused that the ticket was denied to him for being a Dalit. “My close proximity with TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu gave rise to expectation that the party ticket would be given to me being a Dalit and also hailing from Telangana, he observed and regretted that instead both the tickets were given to people from the Seemandhra region.” I feel humiliated and insulted”, he added in a choked voice.
Mothkupalli also lashed out at Dayakar Rao for not taking up his cause with the TDP president in the matter and asked “What is the use of you being the convener of the Telangana TDP Forum?”. Many TDP members, including Dayakar Rao were seen trying to console and pacify their emotionally surcharged colleague. (NSS)
