A mother was shocked to find her seven-month-old baby alive during the funeral after the doctors declared her child as dead.
According to a report published in MailOnline, the mother identified as Ivis Montoya was shocked to realize that her baby was still breathing inside the church, in the city of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, DC reported.
The baby Keilin had been admitted to the Rivas hospital in Villanueva on August 3 after she suffered from a bacterial infection which caused convulsions, diarrhea, severe hydration and blistered skin.
The doctors had declared her dead three days later after she did not respond to intensive treatment at the hospital along with issuing her a death certificate.
The mother says the baby was placed on a chair inside the church since the couple had no money for the coffin and it was then the mother realized the baby was still breathing.
The mother rushed to a nearby hospital to find the baby alive and was persuaded to take the baby to a pediatric unit where she is being administered.
The head of the hospital’s Paediatric Department, Elba Campos, said that the incident was being investigated, but that it was too early to reach any conclusions.
