New Delhi, February 04: An 80-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her drunkard son in Outer Delhi for refusing to give in to his demand to sell their house, police said today.
40-year-old Somnath strangled his mother Amar Devi with his hands and smashed her head against the floor in Mongolpuri yesterday afternoon after she turned down his demand to sell the house, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer), Chhaya Sharma, said.
The woman died during treatment at the hospital where she was rushed by her daughter.
Somnath has been arrested, she said.
The incident came to light when officials of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital informed police about the admission of a patient by her daughter Surjeet Kaur in an injured condition.
During treatment, she succumbed to injuries.
Her daughter told police that Devi was residing with her son Somnath, who works as a parttime driver. “He is a drunkard.
