New Delhi: Prime Minster Narendra Modi on Friday stressed the importance of teacher in the life of students, saying ‘a teacher gives life to his students’.
“Mother gives birth to us, a teacher gives life to us, a void remains in our life when there is no balance our teachers,” said Prime Minister Modi.
“A student represents his teacher, he is the canvas painted by his teacher. It is the only pair who distributes the knowledge,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi also pointed out that the teachers should write about some students who left a mark on them, which would show their involvement with their students.
“All of us have a memory of something our teacher taught us when we were young,” he added.
Prime Minister also remembered former President Dr. APJ Abul Kalam in his address to the students.
“Not many of us lived at the time of Dr. Radhakrishnan, but we did interact with Dr.Kalam who wanted to be remembered as a “teacher”,” he said.
“Dr.Kalam went back to teaching the moment his tenure as a President got over,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi also released commemorative coin on Teachers Day at Manekshaw centre in here. (ANI)
