Chandigarh, June 30: A woman has been arrested for forcing her 13-year-old daughter into prostitution. A beauty parlour owner, who was party to the whole act, has also been taken into police custody.
Police sources said the case came to light when the girl left her home on Wednesday morning after a quarrel with her mother, and the woman sent her driver to bring her daughter back.
“A person saw a youth pulling the girl towards a vehicle on Plahi Road. Sensing foul play, he informed the police. The cops swung into action and reached there. When they questioned the girl and the man, the disturbing tale of her ordeal was revealed,” said a police official.
