Mother & daughter nabbed with ganja

The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, in a joint operation with Malakpet Police, today nabbed two women (mother and daughter), in front of Maruti Nexa Show Room, Malakpet and seized 12 kg Ganja from their possession.

The accused were identified as Gayathri Bai alias Gayathri, 40, and Kala Bai, 65, of Dhoolpet, Mangahat. The accused are mother and daughter. Earlier, they used to sell I.D. liquor sachets at Mangalhat. As the police and Excise departments stopped selling of liquor, they switched to selling Ganja. They started purchasing Ganja at Kothapet at lower rate and selling the same at higher price at Mangalhat and other areas.

 

Police said today the duo went to Kothapet and procured 12 kg Ganja packets from an unidentified person for selling it to customers at Mangalhat. In the meantime, police nabbed them along with Ganja.

B Tech student held with ganja

In another case, the police have arrested one person, who was in possession of narcotic drug and seized one kg, Rs 7,400  and one Honda Activa from his possession. On Tuesday, the sleuths apprehended the accused at Hyderabad Restaurant at Yousufguda basthi for carrying “Ganja”. The accused was identified as K. Sai Mohith, 21, studying B.Tech III year in  CMR College, Kompally and residing at Vengalrao Nagar. He is a native of  Challapally village in Vijayawada.

Police said the accused was habituated to consume Ganja since three years. He also used to smuggle Ganja and selling the same at Banjara Hills and other areas. He used to purchase Ganja @ Rs 2000 per KG and sold each 50 gram Ganja packet for Rs 500. Police said the accused went to Araku of Visakapatnam District a week ago and purchased 1 KG Ganja there and brought it to Hyderabad and kept with him to sell at higher rates.

Tuesday, K. Sai Mohith came to Hyderabad Restaurant, Yousufguda on his two wheeler to sell the Ganja to needy customers. However, the Task Force police apprehended him along with Ganja. (NSS)
