Hyderabad, January 07: In a shocking twist to the sensational murder of 16- year-old Jyothi, whose body was found packed in a bag dumped at a garbage bin at Mangalhat a few days ago, the police on Wednesday arrested the victim’s mother and an aunt for killing the girl. Four others were also arrested.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) Ravi Verma told newsmen that Anita (38) and Kavitha (26), the mother and aunt respectively, killed Jyothi on December 31 unable to tolerate her addiction to alcohol and loose morals. On Dec 31 night, Jyothi left home to wish her friends on New Year but came back drunk which infuriated Anita. Anita and Kavitha together reprimanded Jyothi for her wayward behaviour but the girl gave them back a mouthful. The two women decided to kill Jyothi and strangled her with a wire, Ravi Verma said. They packed the body in a big plastic bag and dumped it at a garbage bin with the help of some relatives.
