A distressed mother who tried to immolate herself and her two daughters in the limits of Karkhana police station limits on Friday morning reported to be critical.
According to Karkhana police, the incident occurred at Plot No 25 in AP Text Book Colony in Karkhana area, the injured people Kavita (40) a housewife, was married with one Dinesh, 52, a businessman and the couple had two daughters, Vaishnavi (20) and Bhavna (18) While the eldest daughter is doing her degree, her second daughter is an intermediate student.
Police suspects that, Dinesh who has been ignoring his family was spending most of the time at his jewellery shop at Pot market of Secunderabad. This triggered frequent quarrels in the family. Distressed over the frequent brawls between them, Kavita decided to end her life and kill her daughters as well. She doused her daughters and self with kerosene and set them afire. Upon hearing their screams, neighbors rushed to their place and called 108 Ambulance. They were immediately rushed to Gandhi Hospital for treatment where all are reported to be critical.
Karkhana police, however, refused to divulge any details that led to the attempt to suicide. Further investigation is underway.
