Mosque in German football club to help its Muslim players fulfill their religious duties

The German football club, Bayern Munich, has announced, through its official website that they will build a mosque in the Allianz Arena stadium for its Muslim players. The request was made by the Muslim midfielder, Bilal Franck Ribery, who asked to be provided with a small room to perform prayers.

The administration has also announced that they will fund 85% of the expenses of the worship place and leave the remaining 15% for Muslim players and fans who want to contribute. The mosque will also have a full time imam, an Islamic library and Islamic sessions.

The Bayern Munich has made a wonderful decision to help Muslim players fulfill their religious duties as all Muslims have to pray 5 times a day, on specified timings between dawn and midnight. Bayern is not the first European club to do so, New Castle United has already dedicated a room toward the cause.
