More rains likely in next 2 days

Hyderabad, September 18: Heavy rains occurred in many parts of coastal Andhra and Telangana regions today as the southwest monsoon was vigorous over both the regions.

Heavy rains are predicted in Telangana and coastal Andhra including twin cities in the next 48 hours due to the formation of a low pressure over Bay of Bengal.

S Venkateswara Rao, assistant meterologist, Hyderabad, told Express that the low pressure would intensify and under its influence more rains are likely in Telangana and coastal Andhra in the next two days.

He said that a ‘trough’ prevailed between Orissa and south Tamil Nadu and it is moving over Andhra Pradesh. Under its influence, heavy rains are likely at many places in Telangana.

In the last 24-hours, heavy rainfall of 6 cm was recorded from at Guntur, Navipet (Nizamabad dist), Shadnagar (Mahabubnagar dist), Terlam (Vizianagaram dist).

Forecast: Heavy rains are predicted in many places in Rangareddy and Hyderabad districts in the next two days.
