Hyderabad, April 09: The long wait of Group-I and Group-II aspirants is over. The government today issued orders relaxing the norms and enabling the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) to issue a supplementary notification to fill up additional vacancies that arose after the notifications issued two years ago.
The process of identifying the additional vacancies has already begun and the APPSC will issue the supplementary notification shortly, official sources said.
Two years ago, 210 vacancies for Group-I posts and 682 vacancies for Group-II were notified. As the recruitment process got stretched to a long period of time, aspirants have appealed to the government to notify and fill up the vacancies that have arisen subsequently.
Last month, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy suggested that the officials expedite the ongoing process of recruitment for 210 Group-I vacancies already notified.
Further, they were asked to issue a fresh notification for additional vacancies and hold separate examinations.
In case of Group-II posts, the commission was asked to issue a supplementary notification for the additional vacancies calling for fresh applications but hold a common examination for both the notifications.
