The Congress party needs more time to resolve the Telangana issue as it needs to hold further consultation over the Telangana issue.
This was stated by Union Minister and Inchrage of AP Congress Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad while talking to reporters on the sidelines of Congress Core Committee’s meeting held here on Sunday evening. He said that the party needs more time to hold consultation with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana and leaders of all three regions.
However, Azad clarified that he was speaking on behalf of the party and not on behalf the Central Government. He said the Union Home Ministry will issue a separate statement on the issue.
Stating that consultations would be held “as early as possible”, he refused to specify a deadline for doing the same. He said the consultations with all concerned would be held in the next few days.
