Hyderabad, November 10: More one-ways are likely to come up with traffic police’s proposal getting a green signal from home minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy.
The home minister, who held a review meeting on traffic situation with senior police officials at the Secretariat on Tuesday, suggested introduction of more one-ways to ease traffic congestion. She also proposed new routes interlinking existing roads. City police are seeking citizen suggestions before implementing them.
Sabitha Indra Reddy also asked traffic officials to prepare a comprehensive plan to develop existing junctions and U-turns in the city and introduce more junctions for right turns.
Additional commissioner of police (traffic) CV Anand told the home minister that the new signaling system, introduced at the Khairathabad Junction would soon be extended to other parts of the city.
Meanwhile, Sabitha Indra Reddy assured to sanction more personnel for the traffic wing. The home minister said 600 vehicles are adding to city traffic daily and sanction modern electronic equipment for regulating traffic.
The traffic police asked the home minister to sanction an additional 500 breathalysers, 40 speed guns, 500 VHF sets and 250 digital cameras.
