The first batch of 250 candidates selected for the “Chief Minister’s Overseas Studies Scheme for Minorities” finalised. Over 130 applicants from Siasat Helpline are able to grab the spot in the list. Govt. of Telangana has initiated this scheme for the first time in the country. The successful efforts made by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan to draw Chief Minister’s attention towards implementing this scheme for Minorities bore fruits. Earlier, this scheme was initiated only for SC, ST candidates only.
Under this scheme, every eligible student will get Rs. 10 lakh along with one way airfare. Girl students have reservation under this scheme up to 35%. Such of the students who have sought admissions in the universities of America, Australia, UK, Canada and Singapore were eligible to apply. The selected candidates will also get one way air ticket in addition to Rs. 10 lakh financial assistance.
