Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told ANI here on Sunday that Moradabad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) should be removed from his post for making a controversial statement over Kanth violence.
Criticising the Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi Party (SP) for promoting riots and conflicts in the state, Naqvi said that the government wants to make the situation of Uttar Pradesh even worse.
“UP government has become the government of riots and conflicts. Everyday somewhere or the other there are riots and conflicts happening, and these are being done under the influence of the government. SSP statement that Kanth violence happened due to by-elections seemed as if he is talking like a party spokesperson, whereas his job is to deal with law and order and speak about measures taken by the government to improve it,” said Naqvi.
“Government’s silence over this controversial statement shows that they have purposely appointed such officials all over the state, who are working like Samajwadi Party (SP) workers and promoting riots to worsen the situation. The SSP or whichever official makes such statements should be removed from their post as a politician has the right to say all this not an official,” he added.
Yesterday, Moradabad SSP Daharmvir had made a statement to the media saying that the situation in Kanth got tense only after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) called for a Mahapanchayat because they called it despite denial of permission from the administration. He also blamed BJP Member of Parliament (MP) Sarvesh Singh for polarizing the situation as assembly by-elections are round the corner. (ANI)
