Month-long Rachabanda-II from Nov 2

Hyderabad, October 26: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday said that in Telangana areas Rachabanda-II Phase will be synchronised with Rs 1-a-kg rice scheme, Indira Jala Prabha and Rythu Mahila Sadassulu. The dates for the Rachabanda II Phase in the districts will be finalised by the District Collectors in consultation with the District-in-charge Ministers.

The Chief Minister said that November, 2011 will be declared as ‘Welfare Month’. The Rachabanda II will be spread over a whole month from November 2 to 30 to cover the entire State along with other welfare programmes.

The Chief Minister had a detailed meeting on the Rachabanda-II with the ministers and officials at Secretariat on Tuesday. Ministers Kanna Lakshminarayana, N Raghuveera Reddy, P Sudarshan Reddy, Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi and other senior officials attended the meeting.

As many as 1116 mandals and 134 municipal wards would be covered under Rachabanda-II. On an average, there are 3-4 mandals per constituency and one mandal would be covered every day during the Rachabanda programme.

The programme commencing on November 2 would end on November 15 – effectively for 10 working days. The District Collectors have been asked to ensure that they prepare the list of beneficiaries under ration cards, pensions and housing for distribution. The benefits will be distributed to all the identified eligible beneficiaries during the Rachabanda programme at all the mandal headquarters in the MRO/MPDO office where the people’s representatives would distribute the assets (benefits) along with the concerned local officers.

The District Collectors and the Civil Supplies Department have been asked to distribute coupons to the newly identified eligible beneficiaries. Similarly, the District Collectors and the Rural Development Department have been instructed to distribute pensions to about 4.64 lakh people including 48,426 differently-abled people. The District Collectors have also been asked to expedite the sanction of 2.20 lakh houses to the eligible beneficiaries in consultation with the District-in-charge minister.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to be ready with schemes and benefits and the details to be disbursed during the Rachabanda Programme. Total Number of applications found eligible for new Ration Cards are around 30 lakh out of which 24.40 lakh are applications for white ration cards. The District Collectors and the Civil Supplies Department will take necessary action to distribute coupons to the newly identified eligible beneficiaries during the Rachabanda-II.

Meanwhile, the District Collectors and the Rural Development department will take necessary steps to distribute pensions to the newly identified eligible beneficiaries during the ensuing Rachabanda-II. It is proposed to sanction 6 lakh houses under Rachabanda-II out of the eligible applications registered online. The District Collectors have to take expeditious action to sanction 2.20 lakh houses as per the district allocation from the uploaded online eligible beneficiaries in consultation with the District-in-charge Minister.

The mandal level officers shall prepare the lists showing constituency-wise and mandal-wise availability and access to drinking water and sanitation facilities in school toilets so as to facilitate on the spot sanctions wherever necessary.
