Monsoon to reach Hyderabad by June 5

Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the Southwest monsoon is likely to hit the city by June 5, two days ahead of its scheduled arrival.

As reported by the Times of India, initially the city will experience light rains, and will intensify gradually. It must be noted that the monsoon has already hit the Kerala coast and most of the Northeastern states, including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.

According to Dr YK Reddy, IMD director (in-charge), Hyderabad, the presence of cyclone Mora which hit the Bangladesh coast, has aided in the advancement of the monsoon.
