Minister for Tribal Welfare P. Balaraju has said the State government has decided to set up monitoring committees at district level for the implementation of the ST sub-plan more effectively.
Balaraju was speaking while presiding over ST sub-plan nodal agency meeting in the Secretariat on Monday.
The minister directed the officials concerned to forward proposals only after detailed discussions on nodal agency proposals. He also asked the officials to effectively implement Indiramma Kalalu program as instructed by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Later, the nodal agency meeting approved work proposals of ten departments to the tune of Rs 1789 crores. Similarly, the meeting also approved various works taken at a cost of Rs 1838 crores under various welfare schemes. The meeting also decided to implement more welfare schemes that would benefit the tribal population.
Commissioner of Tribal Welfare Department Somesh Kumar, Principal Secretary Vidyasagar and top officials of various departments participated in the meeting. (NSS)
