Hyderabad, January 24: Police is continuing its campaign against the money lenders. It arrested six money lenders in Santoshnagar and Bhavaninagar police station areas yesterday. It seized materials used in money lending. ACP Santoshnagar Mr. Sai Krishna told that four money lenders have been arrested from Santoshnagar area and two from Bhavaninagar area. They were transacting illegal interest business. Mujeebur Rahman (31) resident of Riyasathnagar, Mohammed Chand (28) of Riyasathnagar, G. Kishore (32) resident of New Santoshnagar, & T. Vinod (42) were arrested on the complaints received from the public.
They were charging enormous rate of interest from the poor people. Mr. Subbaiah, Inspector, Bhavaninagar told that 50 year old Subhas Rao of Lalithanagar a goldsmith by profession he was lending money on huge interest rates.
