Mumbai, September 05: Mona Wasu has emerged winner in the popular reality show Iss jungle Se Mujhe Bachao.
Mona who was being considered to be an underdog was adjuged winner in the grand finale of the reality show on Friday.
Mona is a television starlet and has recognition for acting in so far in television soaps as Miilee, Radha Ki Betiyan kuch Kar Dikhayengi.
She grabbed the crown of “Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao,” beating the other two finalists, 32-year-old TV actor Chetan Hansraj and 30-year-old pop singer Anaida, by a narrow margin of SMS votes.
She won the prize money of Rs 1 crore and the title of Queen of the Jungle.
Mona Wasu’s victory has come as a surprise package for many as the audience was under the impression that it would be a tough job for the female participants to overcome their male counterparts. The contestant had the difficult task of survive life in the jungle feeding on insects and very peculiar food.
Mona was the only female contestant to have won 10 out of 10 stars in jungle challenge tasks.
She achieved this feat by putting her head in 10 different glass chambers full of insects, scorpions, snakes and rats for a stipulated time period.
It is worth mention her that the Indian version of the popular British reality show, I am a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! , has hogged limelight for the craziness of its contestants. Not only were the contestants involved in abundant bitching and backstabbing, tension over food distribution and who would perform a particular task was in common.
