Election of Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Hajj Committee will be held on April 27. Principal Secretary Andhra Pradesh government Dr. Vijay Kumar issued orders in this connection. Orders were issued on March 16 for constitution of 14-member Hajj Committee in Andhra Pradesh and names of members were announced. The first meeting of the committee will be held on April 27 in which Chairman will be elected. As per rules, selection of Chairman is necessary within 45 days of constitution of Hajj Committee.
The government has appointed Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board Task Force Officer Abdul Quddoos as election officer who will monitor the election of Chairman. Prof. S A Shukoor told that presence of 1/3 members is necessary for the meeting which will be held on April 27, at 11: 30, at Hajj House. Momin Ahmed Husain of Kurnool is likely to be elected as Chairman. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has made clear indication to the members that Momin Ahmed Husain will be the Chairman.
Andhra Pradesh government has nominated Mohammed Ahmed Shareef MLC, Shaikh Mastan Shareef ZPTC, T Mahboob Saheb MPP, Shaikh Akber Basha Vice MPP, Maulana Ilyas, Mufti Farooq, K Mohammed Rafi, Abdul Rahman, Haji Shaikh Hasan Basha, Syed Shah Makhdoom Bukhari and K Mohammed Osman as members of the Hajj Committee.
