New Delhi,August 31 :A GIRL in her teens, who along with copassengers allegedly thrashed a youth for molesting her in a shared autorickshaw, has been apprehended after the 27- year- old assaulter died.
The Delhi Police booked the deceased, Ajay, for molesting the girl. When he died two days later, his brother lodged an FIR against the girl, believed to be a martial arts exponent, and the co- passengers.
The girl alleged that Ajay molested her in the moving vehicle on August 26. The enraged victim asked the driver to stop at Gokulpuri’s C block, where she and the other passengers beat up Ajay.
“ Ajay began complaining of a stomach ache at the police station. He was rushed to GTB Hospital,” DCP ( northeast) Sanjay Kumar Jain said. He died on August 28.
While media reports stated that Ajay had succumbed to injuries sustained in the police lockup, Jain said inquest proceedings categorically said it was not a custodial death.
