Hindu and Muslim clashes were erupted in Meerut on Tuesday night where at least 10 people were injured after two sisters were allegedly molested by a group of local youngsters.
The incident occurred in Meerut’s Sarai Laldas area were the mob-pelted stones at each other’s and exchange fire and so the blame game continues.
The family of the girls alleged that the younger of the two had been at the receiving end of the boys’ for quite some time and therefore the elder sister started accompanying her. But the offenders started molesting the both.
Their father also claims that his daughters were cornered by a group of at least nine people who allegedly tried to take hostage of them as well.
“My daughters were returning from tuition when Anwar Khan, Mohammad Jishan, Harun and half a dozen others molested the younger one. When my elder daughter reacted, they pulled her clothes and thrashed her. They attacked my son when he rushed to save them,” he said.
Anwar’s father has a different tale to tell police that a crowd has attacked his sons Anwar and his brother Faizal.
The RAF and Provincial Armed Constabulary have been deployed in the area to forestall the situation from aggravating further.
