Mohd Jani to head Council Privileges Committee

Hyderabad, January 31 (INN): Legislative Council member Mohammad Jani has been appointed as Chairman of the nine-member Committee of Privileges of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council. Other members of the Committee, constituted by Council Chairman are B Changal Rayudu, K Yadava Reddy, K V V Satyanarayana Raju, Rudraraju Padam Raju, Y V B Rajendra Prasad, Potla Nageswara Rao, Gade Srinivasulu Naidu and Syed Altaf Hyder Razvi.

The Chairman also constituted various Committees and Joint Committees dealing Rules, Petitions, Government Assurances, Ethics and Papers Laid on the Table. The Joint Committees are: Public Accounts, Estimates, Public Undertakings, Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Welfare of Scheduled Tribes, Welfare of Women, Children, Disabled and Old aged, Welfare of Minorities and Wild Life and Environment Protection, says a press note issued by State Legislature Secretary S Raja Sadaram.

The Committee on Government Assurances will be headed by T G V Krishna Reddy and will have Nagapuri Rajalingam, Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Ilapuram Venkaiah, Shaik Hussain, Pogaku Yadgiri, Chigurupalli Seetharamulu and Vitapu Balasubrahmanyam as members.

Mr M S Prabhakar Rao has been appointed as chairman of the Ethics Committee. The other members of the Committee are K R Amos, Vasireddy Varada Rama Rao, Dr M V Rao, D V Suryanarayana Raju, Ibrahim bin-Abdullah Masqati, Mettu Govinda Reddy, Dr K Nageshwar and Syed Aminul Hasan Jafri.

Among the joint committees, the Committee on Public Accounts will have Vasireddy Varada Rama Rao, V Bhoopal Reddy, Rudraraju Padma Raj, Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa and Chukka Ramaiah as members.

Members of the joint committee on Estimates are K R Amos, Peer Shabbir Ahmed, Kandula Laxmi Durgesh Prasad, Potla Nageswara Rao and B Mohan Reddy.

The Committee on Welfare of Minorities has Peer Shabbir Ahmed, Farooq Hussain and Ibrahim Bin-Abdullah Masquati as members. (INN)
