Mohd Abdul Hakeem, others quit TDP

TDP State organizing secretary Mohammed Abdul Hakeem, along with his supporters and friends on Wednesday announced their resignation from the primary membership of the party and post in protest against Chandrababu Naidu forging electoral alliance with the BJP.

Announcing this to mediapersons here, Hakeem said he was deeply hurt as the party chief changed his attitude towards the BJP and was hobnobbing with anti-Muslim forces. He recalled that he had written a three-page letter to Chandrababu Naidu on March 3, 2014 appreciating the TDP chief as a good administrator on one side and at the same time pinpointed the wrong steps being taken by Naidu causing heavy damage to the party. He said the TDP chief’s steps were against the principles, ideology and goal of the TDP.

In his letter to Naidu he stated, “Regarding Telangana issue you gave a letter in favour of Telangana but you tried you level best to defeat the T Bill in collusion with BJP which is against the ideology of your two-eyed slogan. On several occasions, you had promised openly that you will never have any alliance with BJP and other communal forces who are against the secularism. But you have violated your promises and joined hands with the saffron brigade due to which all secular citizens, particularly Minorities have gone far away from TDP for ever.

“In the year 2002, when Narendra Modi was the CM of Gujarat, thousands of Muslims were massacred, hundreds of Muslim women were raped, thousands of houses and properties were set ablaze, numerous Muslims lost their valuables, thousands of children turned orphans. Even though you being the supporter of NDA condemned the killings and seriously criticized Narender Modi and demanded his resignation as CM and called him unfit for the post of CM

“You promised in your Muslim declaration that at least 15 Assembly seats and three Lok Sabha seats will be given to Muslims. But you did not keep your promises and neglected the Muslims in allotment of seats and removed the only existing Muslim MLA from Hindupur also. I had suggested you give due importance to the Muslim leaders on par with other communities but you never trusted any Muslim leader, particularly from Telangana region.

“Even after serving the party for more than 25 years, you have no value for the senior, honest, active and sincere workers. Due to these violations, humiliations and anti- Muslim attitude, alliance with anti-Muslim forces, I was deeply hurt and I being a disciplined, honest, principled, sincere and active worker cannot continue with you”.
