Mohammed Shami trolled for ‘un-Islamic’ new year post

NEW DELHI: India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami once again targeted by the troll army on social media over Happy New Year post.

The Twitterati slammed the cricketer for posting an un-Islamic picture with floral rangoli around the image of Shiva Lingam – a symbolic representation of Lord Shiva.

Shami took to Twitter to conveyed New Year wishes to his followers, “As the new year renews all the happiness and good tidings, hope the joyful spirit keeps glowing in your heart forever! Happy New Year!”2018 to you and family’s @circleofcricket @ICC @BCCI @circleofcricket,” Shami wrote in a tweet with a Shiv Ling picture.

The post created a huge uproar on Twitter and the 27-year-old pacer received severe criticism for not ardently following the Islamic rules.

This is not the first time the Bengal bowler gets trolled on social media. Previously, he embraced a lot of criticism for posting pictures of his wife in western outfits and the daughter’s birthday celebrations.
