Abu Dhabi, October 18: General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces received Helene Pelosse, Director General, International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi, on Saturday.
During the meeting Pelosse gave a detailed presentation on the latest activities and projects undertaken by IRENA as well as its plans for the future.
General Shaikh Mohammed expressed satisfaction with the achievements of the Agency during the short span of time since its inception and expressed his full support to the Agency and its activities.
The meeting was attended by Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, chief executive of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company MASDAR and Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazroui, Undersecretary at the Diwan of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Dr Jaber briefed General Shaikh Mohammed on the preparations and work plan to host the first general assembly of IRENA in Abu Dhabi in January next year, as well as the preparations for the Future Energy Summit.
