Modi’s statement about cow vigilantes is politically motivated: Sudhakar Reddy

Hyderabad: National Secretary of CPI, Mr. Sudhakar Reddy told that in the statement given by Mr. Modi about cow vigilantes, there is no seriousness. He did not take any action to issue instructions to State Government to deal with cow vigilantes sternly. He has given these statement keeping in view UP and Gujarat elections to be held next year. If Modi were serious, why did he not give any statement on the attacks on cow vigilantes and RSS workers earlier? Modi is playing the role of a self-styled policeman. Police arrested the cow vigilantes and released them on bail. They should have been booked under non-bailable clauses.

Mr. Sudhakar Reddy was talking to newsmen yesterday. He told that the attacks on Dalits started in the University of Hyderabad when Rohit Vemula had committed suicide. He pointed out that with the shifting of the portfolio of Ms. Smriti Irani will not resolve the issue. He mentioned that Central Govt. is organizing the silver jubilee celebrations of the economic reforms started by the late PM of India, Mr. P.V. Narasimha Rao. Govt. is also making claim that the country is progressing. He asked the Govt. to tell the people whether there has been improvement in the production of public center undertakings or only 250 capitalists have been benefitted out of the economic reforms?

He cited the example of Suzuki’s investment in Maruti Cars. Japan earn Rs. 1 lakh crore out of this investment. 70-80% of the people of India did not benefit out of economic reforms. Still 35% population is living below poverty line. In the name of economic reforms only the capitalists were benefited.

He further mentioned that GST will increase the burden on the common man. Income tax has not been touched upon. About the special status of A.P., he alleged that BJP and TDP have conspired to avoid division of votes. Mr. Venkaiah Naidu was forced to tell why the voting permission was given to a private bill?
