Modi’s “aggressive” remarks “well-received” by 50,000: Trump

Hours after addressing the joint rally with PM Modi, the United States President Donald Trump met Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan in New York on September 23.

Addressing the media after meeting Mr. Khan, Trump spoke about an “aggressive” statement that was “well-received” by the crowd of 50,000 people at the NRG Stadium during the high-octane ‘Howdy Modi!’ event on Sunday.

“It was very well received within the room,” Trump said.

During a presser with Mr. Khan, the US President said that “there’s always a solution” when asked about Kashmir.

“I hope India and Pakistan are able to come together and do something that is really smart and good for both, there is always a solution, I really believe there is a solution,” he said.

Khan is on a visit to the US to attend the United Nation General Assembly session on September 27.

The meeting — which started after 10pm and is reported to be the first of two between the leaders during the UN session — follows a “Howdy, Modi!” rally in Houston on Sunday in which the US president and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a stage and showered each other with praise.
