Ratlam (MP): Union Minister Manoj Sinha today said the countrymen should wait for six-eight months more to see Prime Minister Narendra Modi running the country in “top gear”.
“The country was in a mess during the tenure of previous (Congress-led UPA) government when Modiji took over the reins last year. People had high expectations from Modiji. The PM has added the lubricant (by putting in motion the process of development) and has placed the country in the third (top) gear,” Sinha, Minister of state for Railways, said.
He was here to attend two different functions.
“When a vehicle develops fault it is repaired and a lubricant is put to make it run smoothly. Likewise, Modi had put the country on the fast track. The countrymen must wait for 6-8 months more to see Modi running the country in top gear,” the minister said.
Sinha said his senior and Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has charted out a plan to invest Rs 8 lakh crore in five years to strengthen railway.
“Of this, Rs 1.10 lakh crore will be invested this year itself,” Sinha said.
The minister said the NDA government has made a budgetary allocation of Rs 3,011 crore for improving rail infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh compared to Rs 500-700 crore it used to get under the previous UPA regime.
He said problems of railway employees will be sorted out by government.
