Modi violated acts, Code: Digvijay

AICC General Secretary incharge of AP Congress Affairs Digvijay Singh today charged Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi with violating Election code of conduct.
Speaking to media persons at Telangana Congress head quarters Gandhi Bhavan along with its chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Singh alleged that Modi is just noted for violating the Acts of the nation. Modi is least bothered of our own Acts and code of conduct. Singh took serious exception to Modi for addressing a press conference displaying the BJP symbol “Lotus” soon after casting his vote in Gujarat. Is it not sheer violation of election code? Digvijay Singh asked. How a big person like Modi, who is being projected to be future Prime Minister of India on behalf of the BJP, can violate the norms stipulated by the Constitution, he asked. Any leader big or small or anyone should follow the rule of the country which is common for all, Singh stated.
Slamming BJP for opposing Food Security Bill in Parliament, he claimed that Congress led UPA Government through 10 year rule implemented many welfare schemes and developmental programs. Despite financial crisis the Congress delivered efficient Government at the Center, he claimed. He also alleged that Modi for his rhetoric against the Congress and UPA Government at the behest of Corporate companies. Modi is trying to mislead the people for votes and seats with support of some corporate forces, he said. He exhorted the people to be careful about Modi speech luring with false promises and creating hype for just selfish gains. Since the elections are being held between common man and corporate sector, the people should judge to who to vote, Singh said. Second phase of elections to be held on May 7 and 12 will decide the fate of the leaders and the people should show their mite and vote in favor of the Congress for welfare and developments. (NSS)
