New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke over telephone with Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and thanked him for the invitation extended to India to address the OIC Foreign Ministers’ Council as a Guest of Honour.
An official release said the leaders expressed happiness at the growing strength of all-round bilateral cooperation.
They reiterated their commitment to further consolidate the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership.
The Prime Minister “took this opportunity to thank the Crown Prince for the invitation extended to India for addressing the OIC Foreign Ministers’ Council as a Guest of Honour” in Abu Dhabi earlier this month, the release said.
Modi expressed the hope that this historical participation would contribute to attaining the common objectives of peace and progress.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had addressed the 46th session of Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on March 1. It was the first time that India had been invited to address the OIC meeting.
