Modi-Shah masters of double speak, alleges Ajit Sahi

NEW DELHI: Agitation and unrest over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and the proposed National Register of Citizens (NRC) are raging across the country. Students, artists, politicians and rights activists, of all age groups and religions have taken to the streets expressing concern over attempts to divide the country on religious lines by targeting a particular community.

In an interaction with the anchor on Voice of America, Urdu, Political analyst Ajit Sahi speaks about the weakening of the position of Muslims in India. He nails the BJP-RSS lies on Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and the proposed National Register of Citizens (NRC).

When the host of the show asked Mr. Sahi why the same response was not witnessed in Kashmir after the scrapping of Article 370, he said that the Valley was preceded by massive troop movement and a lockdown in the state.

Seeks a ‘Hindu Rashtra’

The ruling saffron party which has won back-to-back elections with the promise of growth, jobs and development is now following a majoritarian agenda of ‘Hindu Rashtra‘ instead of addressing the issues of economic slowdown and unemployment.

  • After coming to power for the second term, the ruling BJP government announced its decision to strip off the Article 370 from the Constitution, which provides special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Next, it was the Supreme Court judgment in Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute case, which was part of the election manifesto all along. The SC unanimously granted the entire 2.77 acre of land to deity Ram Lalla.
  • Then came the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).

Masters of double-speak

Mr. Sahi said that the record of their statements exposes that they are masters of the double speak.

Both the PM Modi and the Home Minister Amit Shah were caught flip-flopping, especially on the proposed National Register of Citizens.

PM Modi insisted that the CAA and NRC have nothing to do with the Muslims by publicly contradicting what Amit Shah had said on NRC.

Mr. Sahi said that on which statement of Modi the nation should believe.

He said that the BJP government is having a “racist” and “Nazi-inspired RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) ideology” which, in fact, is ingrained in their ideology that puts Hindus above all other religions.

Their only intention is to bring CAA-NRC to establish a state that represses all other religious groups.
