New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah will hold a day-long meeting with BJP chief ministers and deputy chief ministers on Tuesday.
The BJP has 15 chief ministers and seven deputy chief ministers including two in Uttar Pradesh and one each in Gujarat, Bihar, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura.
In Bihar the BJP is part of the coalition government led by Janata Dal-United while in Nagaland, it is part of NDPP’s Neiphiu Rio-led People’s Democratic Alliance.
“Apart from a general strategy, discussions regarding the implementation of various Central schemes and preparedness for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls are likely to come up during the meeting,” a BJP leader told IANS.
The chief ministers council meeting, which has been an annual affair since 2014 after Modi took over, is likely to begin at 10 a.m.
Shah will deliver the inaugural speech while the Prime Minister will address the valedictory session.
