New Delhi, May 10: Lalit Modi, who was supposed to reply to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) showcause notice today, has seeked time till May 15 to reply to the 22 charges against levelled against him by the cricket board ranging from receiving kickbacks to tampering with IPL team bids, media reports said.
Lalit Modi was in Delhi on Sunday to meet with his lawyers to make a fitting reply to the BCCI’s showcause notice.
Modi also has to reply to a second showcause notice for planning an IPL-like league in England.
According to media reports Modi is planning to take legal action against England and Wales Cricket Board Chairman Giles Clarke, and would be suing him for defamation.
On Sunday Modi had said that the world has reacted to the showcause notice issued to him, for which reason he did not deem it necessary for him to react to it.
