Kolkata, December 09: The third season of the high profile Indian Premier League (IPL) will see another change in the format with an increase in the number of strategy breaks.
Revealing this here yesterday, IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi informed that the strategy breaks, which took place halfway through each innings during IPL II, has been increased to four per match.
”This time there will be two strategy breaks of two-and-half minutes each per innings. The first two-and-half minute break will be the batting side’s discretion,” Modi told reporters.
”The bowling side will then choose when to implement their two-and-half minute strategy break,” he added. Modi, however, refused to speak on the decision to keep out Pakistan players from IPL 2010 which will start from March 12 next year.
”It’s unfortunate. But we don’t see any reason to consult the home
ministry,” he stated.
