Modi refuses scarf offered by Muslim

Ahmedabad, October 20: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi refused to entertain a printed scarf offered to him by a Muslim in Gujarat’s Navsari district. Modi accepted the normal shawls from visitors but refused to entertain a printed scarf offered by a Muslim.

The incident is a repeat of the one which occurred at Ahmedabad when he had refused to put on a ‘skull cap’ offered by a Muslim cleric during his sadbhavana fast. At that time, the Imam had offered Modi a ‘skull cap’, but he politely refused to wear it, asking him to offer a shawl instead. The Imam had then raised a hue and cry and said that Modi had insulted his religion.

The BJP had dismissed the incident as a non-issue. The BJP, however, said it was a non-issue. “Narendra Modi has clearly said that his policy is not of appeasement of a section of society unlike other parties, but our approach is development for all and treating everyone as equal,” party spokesperson Vijay Rupani had said.
