Modi may visit India’s oldest mosque in Kerala during his tour

In order to appease the Muslims, Narendra Modi may visit India’s oldest mosque, Cheraman Juma Masjid, in Kerala during his tour in July/August.

PM is visiting Kerala to inaugurate the completion of the first phase of Muziris heritage project which is being funded Tourism Department of Kerala State.

It may be noted that Cheraman Juma Masjid is the oldest mosque of India built in 629 A.D. by Malik Bin Dinar, a contemporary of Cheraman Perumal, the ruler of Kodungalur and Malabar, who embraced Islam subsequently.

Dr. Fazal Gafoor, President of Muslim Educational Society of Kerala told that Modi’s visits of mosque would be a welcome move since BJP’s usual propaganda has it that Muslims in India are the successors of ‘invaders’.
