Prime Minister Modi is likely to take initiative to meet members of Muslim Personal Law Board to instill confidence among the Muslims and also to make his policies about the Muslims. It is expected that this meeting will take place during this month. A meeting of Muslim Personal Law Board is scheduled to be held at Jaipur from 20th to 22nd March.
According to informed sources, Mr. Zafar Sareshwala, Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University who is supposed to be very close to Mr. Modi suggested this meeting. Mr. Sareshwala had met Maulana Rabey Hasani, Chairman of Muslim Personal Law Board on 19th February. Maulana Nadvi agreed in principle to meet Mr. Modi.
It may be mentioned that All India Muslim Personal Law Board is the representative organization of the Muslims of India which generally does not involve itself in politics but it affects the public opinion of the Muslims to a larger extent.
On the condition of anonymity, an official of Nadwatul Ulema told that the Muslims think that Mr. Modi is a leader of positive thinking who wants to take all the sections of society along with him towards the development of the country but certain rightist Hindu leaders are creating a rift between the Hindus and the Muslims by making provoking statements.
Addl. Advocate General of UP and Senior member of Muslim Personal Law Board, Mr. Zafaryab Jilani told that the Central Govt. has no interest in resolving the issues pertaining to the Muslims which are depicted in the recently presented Union Budget. In the Central budget there is nothing for the Muslims. The madness of the extremist saffron groups of the Hindus are responsible for disrupting the efforts of uniting the Hindus and the Muslims. The spokesman of BJP, Mr. Vijay Bahadur Pathak told that many issues are cropping up due to communication gap between the Hindus and the Muslims. This is the reason that Mr. Modi wants to clarify the stand of his government about the Muslims.
