Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee paid rich tributes to the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. Congress senior leaders V Hanumanth Rao staged dharna near Nehru statute, Abids, to protest against ignoring Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Nehru by BJP government.
President Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Captain Uttam Kumar Reddy, leaders of opposition, K Jana Reddy (assembly) and Mohammed Ali Shabbir (Council), Working President Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, MP (Rajya Sabha) M A Khan, former MPs V Hanumanth Rao, M Anjan Kumar Yadav, former minister M Shashidhar Reddy, D Nagendar MLA, Sampat Kumar MLC M Ranga Reddy, P Sudhakar Reddy, General Secretaries Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee S K Afzaluddin, Syed Azmatullah Husaini, Uzma Shakir and others paid rich tributes to Nehru at Gandhi Bhawan.
V Hanumanth Rao staged dharna from 10 am to 1 pm at Nehru statue, Abids, which was supported by all Congress leaders. The leaders were shouting slogans like ‘Modi ki Tanashahi Nahi Chalegi’
