Modi govt. Committed to develop Telangana: Kishan Reddy

Telangana BJP unit president G Kishan Reddy today asserted that Narendra Modi government was committed to help TRS government for development of the Telangana state.

Reddy along with former union minister and party’s national vice-president Bandaru Dattatreya and others called on central ministers in New Delhi and apprised them about the backwardness of the region and sought their cooperation for the development of new state.

Speaking to media on his return after a two days Delhi visit, Kishan Reddy said our party and Modi government is committed for the development of Telangana. Some of the union ministers including Nitin Gadkari, M Venkaiah Naidu, Piyush Goyal, Uma Bharathi have assured that if they received proposals from the state government, the centre would consider it and extend all possible help for setting up a gas based power generation plant, supply of electricity, sports complexes in all district headquarters, rural road connectivity, upgrade of national highways passing through Telangana State, he said.

Kishan Reddy said that TRS government has failed to appraise the situation of Telangana state to the Centre. Though there was power shortage in the state, but the state government has not taken the issue effectively with union power minister.

Reddy said that the BJP would work as a bridge between the centre and state government for the development of the state. He informed that Union Minister for UrbanDevelopment Venkaiah Naidu has assured that two or three “smart cities” would be built under the central scheme in Telangana state.

Referring to blockage of TV9 and ABN channels, Kishan Reddy said it was not proper to work to take vengeance. It was not a good precedent. The TRS government should not indulge vengeance, he said and suggested to take action as per law if there was any objectionable telecast by these channels.

Later, Dattatreya said Gandhi hospital is likely to loose 50 medical seats due to lack of basic infrastructure in the government run teaching college. He urged the government to provide basic facilities in the reaching college otherwise the Gandhi medical college would loose 50 medical seats.

He asked Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to immediately convene a meeting of all MPs from the state to discuss various issues pending with the Centre so that they could be raised in the forthcoming Budget session of Parliament.

Besides Bandaru Dattatreya , state party vice president M Malla Reddy and others were present at the press conference.
