New Delhi, April 08: Criticising the Centre for not finding any “concrete solution” to tame prices, Gujarat Chief Minister Narandra Modi today demanded supply of pulses and edible oil, besides wheat, rice and sugar, to the poor through public distribution system.
“It seems that the Government of India has not got any concrete solution to check rise in prices,” Modi told reporters after attending a four-hour long meeting of the Core Group of central ministers and state chief ministers on price rise. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Modi also said that giving only rice, wheat and sugar to BPL families is not sufficient and they should also be provided with pulses and edible oil.
He also said the the Union government should take a decision immediately to resolve the issue of number of below poverty line (BPL) families in the country.
