Modi is Firm on Eliminating Terrorism, says Rajnath Singh

Hyderabad: The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today inaugurated the office and residential complex of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) at Khanapet villege, Madhapur here on Friday. The NIA has commenced operations from January 19, 2009 with the mandate to investigate and prosecute offences affecting the sovereignty, security and integrity of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajnath Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a tough decision to eliminate terrorism and to this effect initiated air strikes on terror camps in Pakistan. He said that even Muslim countries were supporting India on this issue. He pointed out that terrorism has no relation with caste, creed or religion. He said that the entire country was one on ending terrorism.

The Home Minister said that NIA has received recognition as a very effective investigation agency in the World. During investigation by NIA, many key issues have come to light. NIA investigates in to issues related to terrorism. Rajnath said that the Pulwama terror attack was a horrific one and there was need to eliminate terrorism and see that such acts would not recur. He stated that all the countries were taking action to put an end to terrorism. He said that NIA had also a role in bring in a change in the country. He said that the Home Ministry has given a free hand to NIA to investigate in to ISIS. He said that NIA is having offices in many states now and plans are afoot to open the offices in mother States also.
He said that the entire world supported the country’s action against terrorism. He said that it is a matter of pride that India has been invited to an Organisation of Islamic Cooperation meeting in Abu Dhabi as a guest of honour.
He called upon the NIA officials to increase the conviction rate from the present 92 to 100 per cent. The Union Minister also inaugurated Guwahati office from Hyderabad.

Governor ESL Narasimhan, State Home Minister Mohd Mehmood Ali, Additional DGP Jithender, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar, Cyberabad commissioner CP Sajjanar and other officials attended the programme.
