Modi favoring MNCs, ignores TS growth: Etala

Finance Minister Etala Rajender today charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi with doing favours to corporate companies and ignoring the welfare of the States. “The Narendra Modi Government was not keeping its word on devolution of funds to the States from the Centre”, he charged. The Centre was ignoring Telangana development despite pleas for funds time and again under various heads, he alleged.
Interacting with mediapersons at Delhi, Eatala said the TRS landslide victory in the civic polls in Hyderabad was a referendum and the State government will keep its manifesto promises. In the name of Make in India, Modi was extending support to the MNCs at the cost of the States, he charged. He also expressed his displeasure that the Centre slashed ICDS funds and yet to release CST arrears to the State which sought raise in FRBM limit and funds for backward regions as it gave to Andhra Pradesh State.
“We also urged the Centre to implement tax exemption to small and domestic industries, special economic zones and give chance to use CSS funds based on priorities and implement subsidies and promises made as per AP Reorganization Act.
Earlier, Etala participated in a national conference of Finance Ministers of States chaired by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at the national capital. Rajender accused the Centre of ignoring the plight of the fledgling State of Tealngana. “Though we support the Centre on GST Bill it should not hamper our State’s interests”, he remarked.
The Telangana State reiterated in the meeting to increase FRBM limit to get more financial assistance, Rajender said. The limit if increased by 0.5 per cent, the State is entitled to get another Rs 3000 crore to Rs 4000 crore from the Centre by implementing 14th Finance Commission recommendations. “We urged the Centre to devolve funds to the States and help them implement various welfare schemes, he said.
