Vadodara, December 04: Taking a break from his busy schedule, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi enjoyed a desert ride in Kutch district bordering Pakistan with minimal security cover as he tried to promote the state as a top tourist destination.
He took part in the three-day `Ranotsav’ (desert carnival) last night as he arrived at Ghordo Tent city and later enjoyed a camel ride under full moon.
Modi appealed to the tourists to come to the ‘white desert’ in large numbers for once in a lifetime experience.
The carnival showcases the rich ‘kutchhi’ culture, sound and rhythm and reveals the soul of the desert, he said.
The glorious cultural legacy and beauty of desert would continue to attract tourists. Gujarat has the potential to become a top global tourist destination, Modi added.
